The International German Gymnastics Festival 2009
More than 100.000 members and visitors are expected when Frankfurt will be the scene of world’s biggest leisure sports & competition festival in 2009. Frankfurt will be the host for the International German Gymnastics Festival 2009. The Rhine-Main-Region is one of Germany's most divers regions. The romantic landscapes along the rivers Rhine and Main, the winegrowing districts of the Rheingau, Rheinhessen and the Bergstraße as well as the beautiful forests and hills of the Taunus, the Vogelsberg, the Odenwald and the Spessart offer numerous possibilities for scenic and delightful excursions.
The main area of the International German Gymnastics Festival 2009 will be at „Messe Frankfurt“, the city´s fair grounds. An area of 70,000 m² with six exhibition halls including the „Festhalle“ and the „Congress Center“ as well as the surrounding open-air arenas will be available for the activities for the Gymnastics Festival. Furthermore, Frankfurt's inner city encompasses five great sports venues: the ice rink (Eissporthalle), the sports and leisure centre Kalbach, the „Rebstockgelände” with its water park, the stadium (Commerzbank-Arena) and the arena for ball games.
There are more than 1,000 events inviting everyone to join in or watch. Participants from all over the world are expected to take part in the International German Gymnastics Festival. Competitions, presentations, sporting events, fun activities, games – everyone may join.
